St Michael, the Archangel of Protection

St Michael is known in religious circles as an archangel of protection. He is written with a sword in hand in iconography, demonstrating an invitation to petition the spirit realm for defense against evil. Byzantine Hoodoo has used black and red Ankara print fabric and a knotted sword to demonstrate that a call to the spirit realm for protection does not fight with weapons of physical warfare, but rather has power and authority to remove all physical, spiritual, and emotional weapons, preventing them from causing harm to our mind, body, and spirit.
